Dog event: Paws in the Park takes place Saturday, Aug. 29, at Randall Oaks.
Market day: The Geneva French Market runs Sunday, Aug. 30, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., continuing weekly through mid-November.
Charity ride: The Hope Echoes Charity Bike Ride with CASA Kane County starts Sunday, Aug. 30, at the Kane County Court House.

Museum exhibit: Counterculture: The Beatles and Art opens Tuesday, Sept. 1, at the Geneva History Museum.
Folk festival: The Fox Valley Folk Music and Storytelling Festival runs Sept. 6-7, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., at 822 N. First St.
Holiday closure: Geneva city offices are closed Monday, Sept. 7 for Labor Day, and garbage collection that week shifts back one day.

Trail detour: A stretch of the Fox River Trail is closed for about two months for a new sanitary sewer river crossing.
Festival closures: Geneva police have announced downtown street closures and parking restrictions for the Festival of the Vine.
Road work: Storm sewer work on the south side of Route 38 is expected to finish mid-block between Harrison and Sandholm streets.
Zoning hearing: The Planning & Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing Sept. 10 on pool-related zoning variations for 1212 Batavia Ave.
